In Class:
  • Work on capitalization warm up (I will check reading logs at this time).

  • Handout spelling lists.

  • Read the rest of Chp. 5 in Black Ships Before Troy as a class. Continue filling out your figurative language chart.

  • Answer the questions that accompany the Ancient Athens handout. Make sure your answers are correct. I am grading for accuracy.

  • Make a T-chart that discusses the similarities and differences between Athens and Sparta.

  • Review rubric and outline. Start filling out outline for paragraphs.

  • Take all of class to work on completing your outline for the Athens vs. Sparta paragraph outline.

  • Once you have finished this outline, please take time to start typing your rough draft in the Google Classroom form.

    • I will start taking small groups to look at rough drafts today and next week.

    • The paragraph will be due at the end of class on Tuesday 10/24.

In Class:
  • Continue working on your outline and typing your rough draft for your paragraph.

  • Once you have finished your rough draft, revisit the rubric I have given you and grade yourself on the quality of your work.

  • Take time to edit, based on the different categories in your rubric.

  • We will begin using quotes and collecting pictures to create the posters.
